The Storyteller
“Once upon a time,” he starts without fail,
at the crowd’s behest he would try,
to elicit a tear or a smile, a tale to tell,
a negligible, miserable lie.
Subconsciously, lest we know,
he fears a subtle critique, a yawning breath.
