The Poet's Daughters

I Shall Teach You the Senses and Taste

I shall teach you the senses and taste: That your body is not meant to be touched by this. The skin embraces with care. The mouth is not to savour a kiss, Its taste is to speak and share. The nose shall not breathe for scents, But rather to love shall aspire. The ears attend not to hear any chants, For time like a dripping pail shall expire. My daughter, you see? My eyes are for shedding tears. Never again shall I feel, taste, breathe, nor see as I rest. Therefore I shall teach you the senses and taste.
