A Tower of Truth

The Qumran Scrolls

Shepherd, Have you seen a fortress shaped by sand and stone Raised in majesty upon a limestone rock? Shepherd, Among the sands, did you breathe in millennia, In dust and air? Shepherd, In the scorching heat, have you touched An earthen vessel, Fragile, worn and bare? Shepherd, In the wilderness, did you hear The whistles of the past? The winds of Mount Nebo do roam. Shepherd, If only you knew how to read Hebrew letters upon the parchment, Like Moses coming home.
