A Tower of Truth

The Storyteller

“Once upon a time,” he starts without fail, at the crowd’s behest he would try, to elicit a tear or a smile, a tale to tell, a negligible, miserable lie. Subconsciously, lest we know, he fears a subtle critique, a yawning breath. To all his acquaintances he stays a riddle though, his candor, his mirth, his quiet death. If only one day he might understand that a man is always at his prime, when he is only ever himself — and when he speaks truth to himself all the time. Now I shall speak only truth — my truth only. I place my trust in one and all, to hear and know my truest story, and make their own judgment call. Oh storyteller, tell us your tale, let us know someone - to love, that which endures, we much prefer your story to deceptions in veil, Grant yourself a happy ending, as honesty ensures.
